Behalf of the board, i like to acknowledge the staff of sfgov tv who record each of our meetings and make the transcripts available to the public online. Colleagues, i like to take a few meetings to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment. The 19th amendment which guarantees and protect womens constitutional right to vote was ratified on august 18, 1920. Hundredth anniversary of this historic milestone is to reflect on incredible efforts to secure womens Voting Rights. It is a reminder of the unfinished work ahead of us to fulfill the promise of our democracy. For decades after the ratification of the 19th amendment, many women of color were prevented from casting ballots through poll taxes, literacy tests, violence, intimidation and ....
