Ligue 1 clubs vote to block players leaving EU, AFCON qualifiers

Clubs from France's Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 have unanimously voted to prevent foreign players from travelling on international duty outside of the European Union.
Club presidents from France's top two divisions met with the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) on Wednesday to discuss the upcoming international break and the challenges international travel currently poses to clubs and players due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The LFP has since announced that the Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 clubs have unanimously voted against releasing players for international duty to countries who will be playing their upcoming fixtures outside of the European Union (EU) and European Economic Area (EEA).

Odey's header powers Amiens to victory over Chateauroux
Saturday's contribution was the third time the former MFM FC striker had come to the rescue of Oswald Tanchot's side, having previously scored match-winning goals in their league games against Dunkerque and Grenoble Foot 38.

In addition to his contribution, all three of Odey’s goals have come at the Stade de la Licorne.
The 23-year-old, who was the second top scorer in the 2016-17 Nigeria Professional Football League season with 18 goals, behind former Lobi Stars striker Anthony Okpotu (19 goals), is currently on a season-long loan from Belgian First Division A club Genk.
