Addison County latest impacted by extreme weather in Vermont

Vermont had a handful of localized road washouts Sunday, as rivers began to rise, but nothing near the devastation brought upon the state last week, according to Robert Haynes, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s Burlington office.

I wish I could vote for both Esther Thomas, who I helped recruit, and Andy Hooper, my good neighbor, on Middlebury selectboard for the one-year seat for which they are competing. I will have to choose.
It is healthy to have such a robust choice. Esther brings a fresh, encouraging and open voice to our diversity efforts in this critical time of this focus. Andy brings local government experience serving on Montpelier’s selectboard and now on Middlebury committees, especially on our library board, working to sustain this essential town asset. You’ll need to decide on Middlebury’s priority for this year, knowing that the following year ushers in more opportunities to seek election to the selectboard.

EAST MIDDLEBURY — Thanksgiving holiday — a time to have a big meal and count one’s blessings.
You’ll understand, however, if Thanksgiving 2020 was a little more subdued than usual at the Fuentes-George household in East Middlebury. The entire, five-person family contracted the coronavirus just before Turkey Day and spent the ensuing 10 days in isolation, dealing with varying degrees of nausea, headaches, lethargy, congestion and coughing.
