On Thursday, Verrett brings her characteristic spark, lighting up Tandem Coffee & Spirits with “Labour of Love,” a pre-Valentines evening of original music and creative covers dancing around all things love and not love. Verrett arrived in Savannah by way of Los Angeles and New York City. As an undergraduate at UCLA, Verrett lucked into the opportunity of a lifetime working at Earvin "Magic" Johnson’s boutique retail store. Verrett hit it off so well with the Johnson family that they eventually asked her to head up marketing and promotions for the store along with some of their other ventures.
