Coronavirus vaccination drop-in session will take place at Deeside Leisure Centre on Friday and Saturday. For all those 18 years or older – Friday, June 4 between 8.30am and 6pm. For all those 40 years or older – Saturday, June 5 between 8.30am and 6pm. The session is available for Wrexham and Flintshire residents to get their first vaccination, who may have had difficulty already attending due to their work commitments. There are a limited number of vaccines available so this is offered on a first-come, first served basis. No appointment is needed, but please be prepared to wait and queue. If you have an existing appointment please keep to the original date. ....
Sir Keir Starmer and Mark Drakeford have visited a brewery in Wales ahead of the Senedd elections - despite the government still banning pubs from reopening. Welsh Labour is promising new jobs and major investment for the region including a medical school for Bangor and a new national park. Sir Keir, thrown out of a pub in England recently by a landlord angry at Labour s opposition during the pandemic, visited the Wrexham Lager brewery with the First Minister. The UK party leader said: Welsh Labour s offer for North Wales is very ambitious. It s about jobs - jobs for the future, green jobs, it s about the NHS, the future of medicine and medical supplies in North Wales. ....

A 91-YEAR-OLD woman from Llangollen became one of the first in her age-group to receive the new Oxford, AstraZeneca vaccine. Earlier today (Tuesday), Llangollen Health Centre was appointed by the Betsi Cadwaladr Health Board as one of only four pilot GP practice vaccination centres in North Wales – and immediately began notifying people in the over-80s group that they could come in for the Covid-beating jab. First in line for the revolutionary vaccination was Mair Evans who rolled up her sleeve to receive it from practice member Dr Alec Jones. Mrs Evans said: “It was all very sudden and when I got up this morning I wasn’t expecting to be getting the injection. However, it’s a good feeling to know that I am one of the first.” ....
