DSWD sits as a member of the JMIT, whose creation was stipulated in Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 1 series of 2021 on the implementation of the financial aid in the National Capital Region (NCR)-plus.
Under the JMC No. 1, the DSWD, the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of National Defense (DND) are tasked to provide technical assistance to the LGUs “on their respective areas of concern.”
In an interview with the DZBB, DSWD spokesperson Irene Dumlao stressed that that based on the JMC and Local Budget Circular NO. 136, issued by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM), an eligible individual is entitled to P1,000, provided that the assistance given to a family should not exceed the cap of P4,000.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reminded Saturday, April 10, the local government units (LGUs) to set up their own Grievance and Appeals Committee to immediately address the complaints coming from their constituents regarding the distribution of the one-time financial assistance in the National Capital Region (NCR)-plus.

DSWD Spokesperson Irene Dumlao said under the Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 1 series of 2021, the local chief executives were tasked to issue an executive order or issuance by the local chief executive prior to distribution of the aid.
The issuance shall include the creation and composition of the Grievance and Appeals Committee, she said.

Remulla proposes giving P2,500 financial assistance per family in Cavite

According to the Department of Budget and Management’s Local Budget Circular No. 136 dated March 30, Cavite residents will be given P3.4 billion in financial assistance during ECQ.
Remulla proposed dividing the amount equally among Cavite’s 1.3 million households, giving each family around P2,500. He also called for full accounting and transparency in the disbursement of funds.
“By doing so: 1. Maiiwasan ang mali kung gagawin nating patas ang sistema; 2. Walang inggitan at reklamo sa mga hindi maaabutan; 3. Ang middle class na laging nakakalimutan ay tiyak protektado at garantisado, (By doing so: 1. Wrongdoings can be avoided if the system is fair; 2. There will be no envy and complaints; 3. The middle class, who are usually neglected, will be protected),” Remulla wrote in a Facebook post.

PRO 11 chief defends NTF-ELCAC fund for Davao Region

Police Regional Office XI chief Police Brigadier General Filmore Escobal on Tuesday defended the inclusion of Davao City in the barangay development program of the anti-insurgency council with an allocation of P1.6 billion.
In a press conference, Escobal said the inclusion of Davao City in the BDP is due to the presence of armed rebel groups in the Davao Region that are supposedly threatening the city.
“Itong funding na ito ay mga pondo na ilalagak or gagamitin doon sa lugar na natapos na po ‘yong operations at clearing ng Armed Forces of the Philippines at Philippine National Police,” he said.

National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon Jr. once again defended the inclusion of Davao City in the Barangay Development Program (BDP) of the anti-insurgency council with an allocation of P1.6 billion.
In making his point for Davao City's inclusion in the BDP, Esperon cited economic activities, size of landmass, rural areas, and the presence of armed rebel groups in Davao Region that is supposedly threatening the city.
“The fact remains that there are numerous isolated and remote barangays within the city. Hence, with the large land area of Davao City, there still is a need for development and infrastructure for its growth,” Esperon said in a statement on Sunday.
