On that particular day, I went to my farm to sell cassava to some customers. Those who brought the cassava had already paid me. I was about leaving the farm when I heard gunshots from afar. While I was still wondering who was firing the gunshots, a man holding a gun just emerged from the bush and ran towards my direction. I quickly jumped into the bush to hide myself. Punch Newspapers Sections Wale Oyewale Residents of Ibarapa in Oyo State have urged Governor Seyi Makinde to fortify Amotekun corps, local hunters and other local security groups in the state to tackle insecurity. They spoke during the security summit organised in some parts of the area on Saturday by the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Adebo Ogundoyin. The summit was convened as a response to the spate of kidnappings, killings, banditry, armed robbery, rape and destruction of farmlands by some killer herders in the area. The summit, which Ogundoyin said was aimed at enabling stakeholders to assess the security situation and to suggest ways of addressing the problem, were held simultaneously at the Teachers’ Plaza, Igboora and in Idere. ....
