Drowning In Boundary Waters

East Loon Bay is part of Loon Lake, located along Ontario/Minnesota border. A man has drowned in Minnesota’s Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says it happened Monday near noon at East Loon Bay of Loon Lake, which borders the Ontario-Minnesota border. Authorities say a passing storm capsized a canoe with two men from Colorado inside. A 75-year-old was able to swim to shore with their gear while the other stayed with the canoe.
