There. you ll notice you have some areas that are shaded in red and some that happen to be in orange. what this indicates is some areas obviously where we have the oil right along parts of the mississippi coast but what s more troubling is there s a chance now they believe that oil could get caught up in the loop current and possibly go to the dry tortugas and possibly the straits of florida and back over toward miami. we re not talking about the thickest crude but some of the thinner emulsified oil, possibly small tar balls. a lot of the sheen. much of the sheen will be burned off from the sunshine in warmer waters but still you might have some oil wash up in places like the tortugas and perhaps miami beach. one last thing to speak about in terms of the gulf and things heating up, surprised, tony? we are looking at things beginning to develop once again in the gulf of mexico. this is the season right? it is indeed. one little impulse, seeing another right here over parts of the in ....

Shoreline. look at this graphic. noaa, national oceanic and atmospheric administration, came up with a forecast of likelihood based on historic current and weather patterns. you take the southern tip of texas to the louisiana state line, you have a zero to 40% chance of oil impacting the beaches. mouth of the mississippi to the florida panhandle, 81 to 100% chance and many have already seen it. south on the west side of florida, the peninsula, less than 20% chance it impacts the naples, fort myers, marco island area but then the loop current, according to noaa, over time in totality here, then you ll see an 81 60 1% to 80%. ....

Before this is over, impact the beaches of the keys and miami and ft. lauderdale. you have in the florida keys, tarballs showed up may 18th. they were not associated whatsoever with the deepwater horizon disaster going on out there. so no oil has yet to show up in the keys along miami and fort lauderdale but cord to noaa, it s possible here on a 61 to 80% chance. look at the current state of the loop currents as well as the frank eddy, which detached itself. all this remains south of the oil mass that s out there in the water. so no oil has actually entered the eddy and no oil has entered the loop current according to the latest data. so you know, it s dammed if you do and dammed if you don t forecast that it will hit the keys. it s a possibility. ....

Zero to 40% chance of oil eventually impacting it. then you go, of course, from the mouth of the mississippi east to the florida panhandle. 81 to 100% chance likelihood of oil impacts that. to the western side of florida around marco island, fort meyer, naples, well, that looks promising. only less than 20% chance the oil will hit the beaches, but then you have a loop current to deal with. that s why the noaa forecast shows from key west up the keys to miami and up the east coast of florida, fort lauderdale, broward county and palm beach county, 61 to 80% chance that at some point over what is promising to be a long-term oil spill, some sort of impact on the beaches. that is, of course, not what anybody in the southern peninsula in the state of florida depends grately on the $60 billion a year tourism industry. brian? ....

Is going to last, but, look at the map. starting on the left of your screen, the southern tip of texas to the louisiana state line, based on historical current, and weather patterns, that is being given a 0 to 40% chance some sort of oil, tar ball, tar mat, something will end up on the sandy beaches and the mouth of the mississippi river to the florida panhandle, 81 to 100% chance and a lot of the beaches already had their 100% chance and south, florida, naples, fort myers area, it look good based on current and weather flow, less than 20% chance the oil will get there and then of the loop current in effect, and that gives a 61 to 80% chance of tar balls or some sort of oil material going to the florida keys up around the miami and fort lauderdale area and the impact looks quite sweeping, but, the further up the east coast you go, the less the likelihood is because the currents go into the atlantic. up side, you know, we worked together with geraldo s show and i would like to welcome y ....
