Students at all seven public schools in Falmouth will be composting by the end of this school year. The district is joining other schools across the region that have launched efforts to keep tons of food waste out of the trash, opting instead to turn scraps into soil.
“I believe what I did was 100 percent the right thing to do, given the circumstances,” he said.
The school district is working to establish a sister school relationship with an English language school in Cape Verde, an island nation off the coast of Senegal.
The Falmouth School Committee discussed the possibility of redrawing school district lines at its meeting on Tuesday, January 24.
'This can be an ongoing conversation and not a one-off,' said The Rev. Nell Fields of Waquoit Congregation Church.
