James Bond’s origin story was never filmed, and the adventures of, er, James Bond, Jr., aired on a short-lived animated series. But they’re only the tip of the iceberg or, if you prefer, the villain’s base disguised as an iceberg when it comes to James Bond’s less famous adventures. ....

A new report explains how the actor’s first film as Bond, The Living Daylights, had a number of scripts proposed before the final one was settled on to be shot as the film we know today. In the first script, written by Richard Maibaum and Michael G Wilson, Dalton was set to explore how the legendary spy first learned his deadly trade - but it also revealed that he had gambled away his family money. ....

As the story goes, an adaptation of the Ian Fleming short story âThe Property of a Ladyâ was mentioned to be the third 007 adventure that would have seen Dalton in the tuxedo. But, as history and some new discoveries have proven, this assumption was actually false. Surprisingly, there were three unmade James Bond movies that could have given the actor more of a substantial foothold in the James Bond franchise, and each of them went on to influence the series after he left. ....
Speaking with Total Film, the 60-year-old said: “It will have to be reimagined, in the way each actor has reimagined the role. “That’s what is so exciting and fun about this franchise; the character evolves. Eventually, when we have to think about it, we’ll find the right person.” Promoting his new book The Lost Adventures of James Bond, 007 expert Mark Edlitz told Express.co.uk of why he believes the producers will push the boundaries once again. On the Bond movie writing process, he said: “Three-time Bond screenwriter Bruce Feirstein told me that Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson know where the dead ends are in the scripting stage.” ....
