Jakarta (ANTARA) - National Police's Anti-Terror Special Detachment 88 (Densus 88) investigators are still probing the involvement of Munarman, a lawyer and ex-secretary general of currently-defunct Islam Defenders' Front (FPI), in acts of terrorism, a police spokesman stated.
Since Munarman's arrest on April 27, 2021, Densus 88's investigators have deepened and expanded the probe into Munarman’s involvement in terror acts in several Indonesian regions, Indonesian Police's spokesman, Senior Commissioner Ahmad Ramadhan, stated during a press conference at the National Police Headquarters here on Friday.

They are being questioned internally Jakarta (ANTARA) - Three personnel from the Jakarta Metropolitan Police are still being investigated over the deaths of six FPI members on December 7, 2020.
"They are being questioned internally," head of the National Police’s public information bureau, Brig.Gen.Rusdi Hartono, said in Jakarta on Thursday.
While Hartono did not disclose their identities, he said they are being questioned by the police's internal affairs division (Propam) and the criminal investigation department (Bareskrim).

Indonesia will soon have a new police chief with the House of Representatives (DPR) approving Com.Gen.Listyo Sigit Prabowo as the successor to General Idham Azis, who retires on February 1, 2021.
Prabowo, who was nominated by President Joko Widodo as Azis' successor, underwent a fit-and-proper test at the House's Commission III, which oversees legal affairs, on Wednesday (January 20, 2021).

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Coordinating Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Minister Mahfud MD quelled speculations over a figure of police chief candidate that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will select as General Idham Azis' successor.
"The police chief candidate's name, currently circulated on the social media platform, is just a speculation," Mahfud MD stated via his official Twitter account @mohmahfudmd that ANTARA quoted here, Tuesday.
As of Tuesday, President Jokowi had yet to send a final name of the successor of incumbent Police Chief General Azis to the House of Representatives (DPR), he noted.

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) is offering protection to witnesses who saw or knew about the December 7, 2020 fatal shootings of six members of the Islam Defenders Front (FPI).
"LPSK is ready to help uncover information in the case by protecting several key witnesses, to enable them to convey significant accounts about the incident, which has attracted public attention," according to the agency's deputy chief, Edwin Partogi Pasaribu.
The agency has received a proposal for protecting six witnesses, and its personnel continue to review the proposal, he said, adding that there were likely several more witnesses who might have important information.

Families of slain FPI supporters speak out as police name Rizieq suspect

The families of six slain Islam Defenders Front (FPI) supporters have spoken up about their deceased family members to lawmakers following their deaths at the hands of the police in an alleged altercation on Monday amid the police's move to name the group's controversial leader a suspect of COVID-19 health protocol breach.
The families’ accounts are similar to the version of events provided by the group, which claimed the six members were not carrying weapons and were victims of “extrajudicial killing” by the police.
House of Representatives Commission III overseeing law and human rights affairs invited the family members to a hearing at the House compound on Thursday.
