A fire in the heart of Grove City has claimed a life early Thursday morning. Just before 3 a.m., Jackson Township firefighters were called to the 2700 block of Independence Way, near Hoover and Home roads, arriving just as flames were shooting through the roof, said Lynn Bruno, spokesman for the department. As firefighters worked to battle the fire, they found one victim in the kitchen. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
