Expansion is underway
The City of Grand Island announced Wednesday that they had broke ground on a new solar farm that should be able to power around 10,000 houses in the community.

Grand Island officials say project will drive solar transformation in the area.
The 12.5 megawatt facility will be built on the east side of Grand Island in a collaboration between Grand Island Utilities and Nelnet Renewable Energy.
