A growing number of LGBTQ+ southerners and other transgender refugees are seeking resources at a new shop in Minneapolis, which provides its items for free.
Minnesota’s status as a transgender refuge is drawing new people to the state with new needs. At Rainbow Wardrobe in Minneapolis, LGBTQ+ advocates are using donated clothes to help meet demand for business attire, androgynous jeans, larger sized women’s shoes and other items.
The union, which was proposed to management on Thursday, will represent around 200 hospitality workers across First Avenue Productions' Twin Cities venues
About 200 bartenders, ticket-collectors, and floor managers working at First Avenue’s seven locations voted for the union. They’re asking for better pay, better training and more notice in scheduling shifts.
First Ave CEO and President Dayna Frank said Friday that the multi-venue operation is voluntarily recognizing the union and will now enter bargaining.
