Suit alleges Madison County Highway employee caused Alton crash

Finney
EDWARDSVILLE — A woman claims she suffered injuries after a Madison County Highway employee failed to yield the right way at an intersection and collided with her vehicle.
Janice Crosnoe filed a complaint May 3 in the Madison County Circuit Court against Jace Scheibal and Madison County Highway, alleging negligence.
According to her complaint, Crosnoe was driving northbound towards Humbert Road and Union School Road in Alton on May 27, 2020. She alleges that Scheibal, who was operating a Madison Count Highway vehicle, collided with her car and caused her to suffer external and internal injuries.
Crosnoe claims that Scheibal failed to stop or yield the right of way at the intersection and was driving "at a speed that was greater than reasonable and proper." She also claims Scheibal was negligent for failing to stop or swerve his vehicle "at the appearance of danger" to avoid the crash.

Now they’re trying to make some progress before the next round arrives on Wednesday.
Four inches of snow caused havoc across West Tennessee roads, but crews are trying to get it cleaned up as fast as they can.
“We made some progress. We divided into five zones,” said Johnny Weddle, superintendent of the City of Jackson Streets Department.
“We have all of our crews back out going through those roads, making sure we are getting them cleared and opened,” said Bart Walls, superintendent of the Madison County Highway Department.
“Some of our crews moved to the secondary routes, 412, 45, Highland, and different areas like that,” said Nichole Lawrence, the community relations officer for the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

JACKSON, Tenn. — When you woke up this morning, you probably realized the roads were already bad, even though there was only a half inch of snow on the ground.
“With the rate it’s coming down, we’re not making a whole lot of headway. But, every little bit helps,” said Bart Walls, superintendent of the Madison County Highway Department.
But the Madison County Highway Department and City of Jackson Street Department are working around the clock to keep up.
“We’ve been working all night and all day,” said Percy Jones, director of the Jackson Street Department.
