May 6 election: bring a pencil to the polling station in Lincolnshire Published: 08:00, 26 February 2021 People may be asked to bring their own pen or pencil when they go to the polling stations on May 6. The covid safety measure is one of several suggested for the election of new county councillors in Lincolnshire, and a new police and crime commissioner. Other guidance for polling day is expected to include wearing a face covering and keeping two metres from others, in line with current rules when shopping. Polling stations may operate differently this year to keep people safe Those who do not fancy voting in person can apply for a postal vote, or a proxy vote in which they nominate someone they trust to go along for them.
10 more Lincolnshire schools with COVID-19 in last seven days A school in North Hykeham closed too | Photo: Adobe Stock / Monkey Business Ten Lincolnshire schools have made contact with the county council over the past seven days because of a pupil or staff member testing positive for COVID-19. On Monday, December 14, Lincolnshire County Council said the current rate of infection in school age children in Lincolnshire is 184 cases per 100,000 over seven days. This is up from Friday’s figure of 164, but the council said it is much lower than the rate of 243 cases per 100,000 for all ages. In addition, Sir Robert Pattinson Academy in North Hykeham has been forced to close until next year after the school said a parent failed to isolate their children despite a positive COVID-19 test within the home.
