However, Vajramuni volunteers to drive seniors in Malleswaram to get vaccinated without charging any money for his service
The philanthropic activities carried out by a volunteer group at
KC general Hospital are already known in Malleswaram. Their latest free
vaccine taxi service has also gained popularity in the neighbourhood. So much so that Vajramuni Gowda, the cab driver, has become the go-to person for vaccine-related queries. He is popular now as the “vaccine call centre” among people.
However, what hasn’t changed is the fate of the cab driver. With no earning for over a year, Vajramuni’s family struggles to make ends meet. After the lockdown was lifted, the driver rarely manages to earn around Rs 300 a day to support his family of four. He stays with his wife and two children. His wife Geetha Gowda contributes to the family income with her tailor work.
