Mandan photographer and studio owner, Craig R. Schmidt, has been named the top photographer in the state and was awarded the 1996 Photographer of the Year by the Professional Photographers of North Dakota at the regional convention held in Minnesota. The prestigious award is presented to the photographer with the highest total score of four photo entries which are judged by a panel of six national photographers. Schmidt’s photographs were put up against more than 500 photos from professionals from the Dakotas, Minnesota and Manitoba.
