Bobby Osborne, the influential mandolinist and bluegrass singer, died Tuesday at the age of 91 in a hospital in Gallatin, Tennessee, just outside Nashville.
The band he led with his brother broke new ground with an unusually broad repertoire, unorthodox instrumentation and untraditional vocal harmonies.
