Marion’s lost stone tablet comes home WAREHAM – It’s hard not to imagine that Marion would be pleased. Marion Pierce Carter died September 9, 1946 at 81 and is buried next to her husband, Miles, in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Attleboro. She was an avid genealogist and founder of the Attleboro Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1901. It’s one of the nation’s oldest chapters. The DAR was founded in 1890.
