Chamber honors healthcare workers FacebookTwitterEmail MARYVILLE The Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce on March 4 delivered 1,100 “Healthcare Kindness Day” bags to Anderson Hospital. “Our healthcare workers were working hard every single day but, in March of 2020, they were asked to not only work harder but put themselves at risk of COVID,” said Chamber Executive Director Dawn Mushill. “Every one of them has had a very trying 10 months and they are still dealing with so much. So we created a holiday for them.” Mushill said the idea came from a Chamber board meeting. The bags have been in progress for a couple of months. Each bag contained gift certificates, treats, a kindness jar (with over a dozen kindness sayings that they can take “as needed”), a handwritten thank you note, a scratch off ticket for a free item at a local restaurant and a flyer telling the story of Healthcare Kindness Day. ....

Motorists crossing from Missouri into Illinois are now able to see promotions for the four communities represented by the Chamber. The sign is located just before the Interstate 55/64 split. “We are always looking for advertising avenues for our Chamber members and the billboard is so affordable that any of our members can afford it” said Dawn Mushill, Executive Director, Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce. ....

The job market is tough : Chamber offers virtual career fair The Intelligencer FacebookTwitterEmail The Troy/Maryville/St. Jacob/Marine Chamber of Commerce will host a Virtual Job Fair over two days at the end of January. The fair runs on Jan. 26 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and Jan. 27 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. This event will feature four employers in each session who will talk about their job openings and offer links to apply for their open positions. “The job market is tough but when you add a pandemic, it is almost impossible to find good jobs,” said Dawn Mushill, executive director of the chamber. “We are bringing together the SIUE Center for Workforce Development, Madison County Training and Employment, Illinois WorkNET and the Chamber for this event.” ....
