A source in March tipped off an Army investigator that metals were being stolen from the missile range in southern New Mexico, according to the search warrant application, which was filed in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque.
A 78-year-old driver died at a hospital following a two-vehicle collision Monday afternoon in Northeast El Paso, police said Wednesday. Juan Estrada was driving on Railroad Drive when he suddenly veered and struck a pickup in the next lane, a police news release stated. The collision occurred about 1:30 p.m. and closed a portion of Railroad Drive for six hours. Police said that Estrada was driving a 2000 Honda Passport in the right lane while Mario Escobedo, 69, was driving a 2008 Ford F-250 in the left lane. Both vehicles were southbound on Railroad Drive near Nations Tobin Park. Estrada passed Escobedo and suddenly veered into the left lane hitting Escobedo s truck, a police news release stated.
