CHARLESTON – Kenneth Ballard is Kanawha County's newest circuit court judge. On April 26, Gov. Jim Justice appointed Ballard, who lives in Charleston, to the Kanawha Circuit Court. CHARLESTON – Maryclaire Akers has been appointed as a Kanawha Circuit Court judge, taking over the seat left by the death of Judge Charles King. Akers, who has practiced law for 21 years, currently is a Senior Assistant Prosecutor with the Kanawha County Prosecuting Attorney’s office. She also has served as that office’s chief of staff.
