Growing up on Kauai, one of the eight islands that make up the state of Hawaii, Cruse learned to cook from his grandmother. And he has never stopped. “(Hawaiian food) isn’t like anything else, it really isn’t,” Cruse said. “And that’s what makes it so awesome.”
