YARMOUTH — On Wednesday afternoon, a contingent of vehicles from the town's police, fire, sanitation and public works departments drove around Town Hall with sirens going.  The drive-by parade was coordinated as a send-off for Town Administrator Daniel Knapik, whose last day on the job is Friday. “It was completely unexpected,” Knapik said, noting his wife, Tricia, was in on the secret.  “I want to thank the people of Yarmouth,” he said. “They accepted me as one of their own. The board unanimously voted Tuesday to appoint Robert Lawton Jr. to the interim post, effective Wednesday. Lawton, who has previously worked as a town administrator in Yarmouth, comes on as Daniel Knapik prepares to leave the post on Jan. 22. Lawton's contract stipulates that he will work two days a week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays) and will be paid $673.08 per day. That schedule could be modified if the need arises.
