The 2021 PGA Championship is fast approaching and the ‘Team of 20’ PGA Professionals competing will be looking forward to facing The Ocean Course head on at Kiawah.
We’ll be taking a look at the ‘Team of 20’ over the next week leading into the championship. Here are five more of the PGA Professionals who will be teeing it up in Kiawah, May 20-23.
Michigan PGA Section
Ben Cook is one of four Team of 20 PGA Club Professionals ー along with Danny Balin, Alex Beach, and Rob Labritz ー to have played in the last three PGA Championships. At age 26, he was the youngest PGA Club professional in the 2020 PGA Championship field. He won both the 2018 and 2020 Michigan PGA Section Professional Championship (he won the 2020 event by a record 8 shots). Cook played collegiate golf at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan, where he was a Division II All-American and a two-time Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference player of the year.

Omar Uresti of Austin, Texas, who won the 2021 PGA Professional Championship on Wednesday, will lead the Team of 20 PGA Professionals to the 2021 PGA Championship, May 20-23, at The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island (South Carolina) Golf Resort.
A 52-year-old PGA Life Member, Uresti will be playing in the PGA Championship for the fifth time, but first since a four-year run from 2015-18.

The Timaru District Council has launched Environment Court action against a landowner who it claims has illegally sprayed and killed off native vegetation on a significant site.
The “application for enforcement orders”, lodged on February 10, says that Robert Hudson of Timaru, was involved in “the clearance of indigenous vegetation within a Significant Natural Area (SNA) within the property (on Fairview and Holme Station roads) that has contravened a rule in the Timaru District Plan and has caused adverse effects on the environment”.

Timaru District Council's draft district plan explained at Federated Farmers info meeting

“The district plan affects everyone in this room,” Geddes told the audience.
“It’s bigger than Ben Hur, it has 50-odd chapters and a lot of moving inter-relationships.”
He said there was a “lot of democracy involved”, and would ultimately take about two years to be formalised.

More than 40 people attended a meeting on the Timaru District Council's draft district plan.
Geddes said the “first cut” of the draft district plan would for the first time include provisions about Arowhenua, while its rules about heritage, water, air or soil and indigenous flora and fauna would become active as soon as the draft plan gets notified, which is expected to happen in the middle of next year.
