RIALTO, Calif. (AP) — A man who was shot after entering a Southern California police station parking lot with what appeared to be an assault rifle was in stable condition Wednesday and the weapon he used was a realistic-looking paintball gun, authorities said.

The investigation continues in Rialto after a man armed with an AR-15 style rifle entered a secure parking lot at the station and was shot by police Monday night.

Shocking footage emerged of the moment the man, driving a Dodge Charger, followed closely behind a cop car as it drove into the California police HQ's secure parking lot at around 4:30pm

RIALTO, Calif. (AP) — A Southern California police officer shot and wounded a man who entered a secure parking lot of a police station armed with a rifle, authorities said. The shooting happened Monday after the officer drove his cruiser through the security gate at the Rialto police station and was followed closely by a black Dodge Charger, said police Chief Mark Kling.
