Prosecutors said the 21-year-old victim was shot dead during a mass gathering of gang members at Columbus’ Wilson Homes apartments.
Besides murder, a 52-count indictment charges the suspects with multiple violations of Georgia’s street gang terrorism act.
The suspect was a first offender on probation for possessing a stolen handgun, court records show.
The prosecution said Quincy Wade was the “aggressor” when he entered the apartment without permission and threatened his estranged girlfriend with a gun. His lawyers called his actions self-defense.
Detectives said the suspect was associated with a web site that advertised sexual services.
