With temperatures expected to fall into the teens this weekend in Seguin and surrounding areas, Seguin Fire Marshal Greg Dreiss is providing some advice on staying safe as we all find ways to keep warm. Dreiss says the first reminder is on the use of those space heaters. He says space heaters are number one sources of heat for many families and can be dangerous if not careful. “We want to make sure that you are prepared beforehand so when it gets to that point, you already have a plan in place of how you are going to keep the place warm. If you have a space heater, have the proper spacing. You don’t want to get to close to it. You don’t want to put it so close to your bed. We’ve had fires in the past from space heaters being too close to the bed and we don’t want that to happen again. “They need to have that heater plugge ....
