Chicago officials have narrowed the list of proposals that could get public subsidies for its proposed revitalization of LaSalle Street, although projects under consideration still represent more than $1 billion in private investment and possibly more than 2,000 residential units.
Projects honored this year include the Market at Malcolm Yards and an addition to the Center for Performing Arts; several apartment buildings, and a number of additions and renovations to schools and universities.
Fitz Flats in St. Paul and the Laurel in Minneapolis have regained their natural luster.
