Troopers have identified the two people shot and killed Wednesday afternoon by a coworker at a Watertown real estate agency. Maxine M. Quigg, 50, of Wellesley Island, and Terence M. O’Brien, 53, of Black River, were reported shot and killed at about 2 p.m. at 145 Clinton St., according to state police. The two victims worked for the Bridgeview Real Estate Agency located at that address, troopers said.

Fields, a local real estate educator who taught the two who were shot Wednesday. Maxine M. Quigg, 50, of Wellesley Island, and Terence M. O’Brien, 53, of Black River, worked together previously at Exit More Real Estate, and when they learned the business was closing, they decided to open their own brokerage, Bridgeview Real Estate Services LLC, in 2016. Many of their former co-workers at Exit More joined them at 145 Clinton St., Suite 111. They built a staff of somewhere between 35 and 40 agents. Vigil scheduled to pay tribute to real estate brokers killed in Watertown shooting

WATERTOWN — A vigil for the two real estate brokers who were shot and killed Wednesday has been scheduled. According to Mayor Jeffrey M. Smith, the vigil is scheduled for 7 p.m. Saturday on Public Square near the fountain. Maxine M. Quigg, 50, of Wellesley Island, and Terence M. O’Brien, 53, of Black River, were shot after Barry K. Stewart, 55, of Carthage, allegedly went into their real estate office on Clinton Street on Wednesday afternoon and opened fire. Stewart later died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to state police. It was about 2 p.m. Wednesday when Stewart allegedly went into Bridgeview Real Estate Services LLC, 145 Clinton St., Suite 111, where he was a former employee, and shot Mrs. Quigg and Mr. O’Brien, who co-owned the business.
