(Dickinson, ND) -- The people of Dickinson will gather for a Memorial Day ceremony at Dickinson State University today. The event will honor fallen service members with speeches from veterans, an advance of colors, and performances of "The Star Spangled Banner" and "God Bless America". There will also be a rifle salute and the playing of "Taps". The ceremony begins at 11:00
The library is located on the corners of Johnson and May Hall, where two of the students lived and where one death took place. The library is also tucked behind the university’s sign where a memorial was created in response to the student deaths, Harens said.
The letter emphasizes the importance of historic preservation for community pride, economic value and educational opportunity, urging Dickinson to intensify efforts to protect historic sites.
