It’s the middle of winter, and my mind is set firmly on summer. Visions of pine trees and granite boulders, warm sunshine and a sparkling blue lake to jump in.
If you want to go camping in Lake Tahoe, you have to think six months in advance, which is when most campsites open up for reservations. And they go quickly. Which is why, for six days in a row at the end of January, I was at my computer at 7:59 a.m. sharp, logged on to a government website, finger poised, ready to hit the refresh button so I could book a campsite in Lake Tahoe. ....
