55. 1966-1979, Houston, Texas; New York City; London; Leeds

Two students at a Catholic university in Houston, Texas, start a band that eventually records one of the most experimental albums of the psychedelic era. After the band breaks up, one of the founders moves first to New York to work as the assistant of a famous artist, then to London, where he teams up with a highly politicized art collective with whom he makes audio and video recordings featuring the artists awkwardly chanting political tracts to a basic rock backing.

Stonefly, Flight School's game about a mech pilot, comes out June 1

Stonefly, a new top-down action-adventure game from Flight School (
The game looks gorgeous and is inspired by mid-century modern design. Bohdon Sayre, game director at Flight School Studio, said in a release that the team “set out to create something visually unique and mechanically original.”
The story centers on Annika, a “brilliant but naïve inventor” who is trying to find a lost family heirloom: her dad’s mech. As Annika, you pilot your own mech (which looks like an insect) that you use to explore the world and collect resources to upgrade your rig.
It’s an action game, but the combat looks very gentle; a short gameplay video shows that the player fights by pushing bugs away with the wind. Game designer Mel Ramsden described the game as “a King of the Hill game, but the hill is a very tiny mound full of riches.” As you shoe various bugs away, you’ll be able to collect resources needed to upgrade your mech.
