Ohio River at Downtown
There is a flood warning in place for the Ohio River at Cincinnati from Tuesday afternoon to Saturday evening. The river is currently in minor flood stage at 54.42 feet as of early Wednesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
The river will crest in moderate flood stage. Minor flood stage is 52 feet. Moderate flood stage is 56 feet.
The river is expected to rise to a crest of 56 feet early Thursday morning. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday evening.
If the river does hit 56 feet, it will surpass our most recent highest crest of 55.46 feet, which happened on Feb. 13, 2019.
Expected Ohio River flooding will be more than initially forecast and push the water levels at Cincinnati higher than they have been since February 2019.
The National Weather Service said high water from earlier heavy rainfall will continue to impact flood-prone areas Monday. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain had fallen, the National Weather Service said.
