According to the Meteorological Department, the city has received a surprising 19 cm of rainfall from June 1 to July 24, 2023, as against the average of 17 cm, representing a 12% excess monsoon rainfall. This comes after the city witnessed its driest June in six years, with only 7.2 cm of rainfall instead of the expected 11 cm.
