Autopsy: Markquett Martin died of self-inflicted gunshot running from police

View Comments An autopsy, conducted Feb. 11 by Davidson County Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Thomas Deering, shows Markquett Martin's cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the right side of his head. Deering wrote in his report Martin was struck once while carrying a handgun with a "very large magazine" while fleeing Metro Nashville Police Department officers. He was 21.
