The annual Hartford Pride celebration will return to Trumbull Street in downtown Hartford Sept.10. National recording artists CeCe Peniston and Willie Gomez are the headliners, and numerous Connecticut drag queens will also perform.
Frankie Cyanide is a drag king who brings an alt-rock/punk approach to a drag scene still dominated by pop and disco divas. Cyanide has two shows upcoming: a "Wacky Saturday" revue preceded by a four-hour "Drag Sale" at Fairfield's Trevi Lounge on Aug. 27 and the latest "Alt/Punk Drag Show at the State House in New Haven Aug. 28.
It's a vibrant and variety-filled summer of comedy in Connecticut, from big names playing the casinos to anything-goes open mics and drag brunches.
