A deputy in Mississippi who was shot and killed in the line of duty was remembered today for his dedication to his community. The funeral was held for Lieutenant Michael Boutte senior in Bay Saint Louis so his family, fellow deputies, and the community could say their goodbyes.
A procession stretching for miles including agencies from all across Mississippi and beyond, lined the Mississippi coast in honor of Lt. Boutte.
"This man gave his life doing his job," Judy Yarborough said. "It's probably woken people up to realize we need to be looking at each other as brothers and sisters."

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WLOX) - A crowd of family, friends and loved ones packed the Bay St. Louis Community Hall for the visitation and funeral of Lt. Michael Boutte, the Hancock County Sheriff’s deputy who was shot and killed while on duty.
While most of the crowd honored Boutte indoors, tributes also happened outdoors.
People from across the nation came to honor the Mississippi hero.
The body of Lt. Michael Boutte has reached the Bay St. Louis Community Hall where his visitation and funeral will be held.

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WLOX) - Family, friends, and law enforcement officers across South Mississippi are saying farewell today to Lt. Michael Boutte.
Hundreds gathered in Bay St. Louis Tuesday for the funeral service, including dignitaries like Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves, as well as officers and leadership from several law enforcement agencies across South Mississippi.

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (WLOX) - From Bay St. Louis to Biloxi, cities are preparing to honor Lt. Michael Boutte with a large funeral procession on Tuesday.
A visitation will be held for Lt. Boutte at the Bay St. Louis Community Hall on Tuesday morning in the downtown Depot area. The funeral procession will then leave the Bay, escorting the fallen deputy to Biloxi National Cemetery, where he will be interred. A private graveside service will be held later in the day.

CONCORD, N.C. (WLOX) - Running 4 Heroes is now running for a Mississippi Hero, Lt. Michael Boutte.
Running 4 Heroes is a non-profit founded two years ago by 12-year old Zechariah Cartledge. This organization’s goal is to raise funds for injured first responders while also paying tribute to fallen heroes through running.
In the video, Zechariah, along with first responders, can be seen running around the Charlotte Motor Speedway in honor of Boutte, who was killed Monday in the line of duty.
