A record 2,136 residents took part in this year's Tri-Valley Turkey Burn, a fun run/walk event at Ken Mercer Sports Park on Thanksgiving morning benefiting the Rotary Club of Pleasanton North and its community programs.
The change was announced in March, following attacks on the AAPI community.
Pleasanton North Rotary continued its annual fundraiser, the Tri-Valley Turkey Burn Family Fun Run, with coronavirus-conscious changes over Thanksgiving weekend, generating more than $7,000 for youth services and COVID-19 relief.
Despite the obstacles posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Pleasanton North Rotary managed to raise more than $7,000 for youth programs during its sixth annual Tri-Valley Turkey Burn Family Fun Run over the Thanksgiving holiday. This yearâs Turkey Burn drew 225 registered participants who planned their own runs, walks, or strolls with family members or small groups of friends in the Tri-Valley area, according to Michael Cherman, who chaired the Rotary organizing committee.
