Dover Township Zoning Hearing Board approved a special use exception for Solar Renewable Energy’s proposal for a solar farm on Harmony Grove Road.
Solar Renewable Energy’s proposal for a 27-acre, 10,500 solar panel farm on Harmony Grove Road was approved in a 3-1 vote by the Zoning Hearing Board Wednesday night.
After two hours of tense discussion, the Dover Township Zoning Hearing Board granted a special exception for what could be the community's second solar farm.
The 10,500-panel solar farm, proposed by Mechanicsburg-based Solar Renewable Energy, is planned for 5370 Harmony Grove Road in Dover Township.
A request for a special exception was ultimately continued to the board's March 15 meeting after a near three-hour meeting Wednesday night.
