WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. David Tate knows what awaits him on the Wabash Township Board, which is at loggerheads with Jennifer Teising, the township trustee. I have to be optimistic, Tate said, because I m a firm believer that for every problem there is a solution.
Reaching those solutions, he admits, means asking some difficult questions and the persistency to get the answers to those tough questions. It requires us all working together, Tate said.
On Saturday, a caucus of the Democratic Party precinct committeemen from Wabash Township elected Tate, a retired Purdue University professor, to serve the 20-month term remaining on the board, Tippecanoe County Democratic Party Chairwoman Jacque Chosnek confirmed Wednesday.
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. Wabash Township board member Michelle Wietbrock resigned Tuesday, becoming the fourth township board member to resign since Trustee Jennifer Teising took office in January 2019. Effective immediately, I submit my notice of resignation from the Wabash Township Advisory Board, Wietbrock wrote. This decision was not made lightly, but rather with no other choice due to increased family needs and health issues.
Teising wrote, I wish Michelle the best in her future endeavors and was sorry to hear about her personal struggles.
Wietbrock was appointed by caucus in February 2020 to replace Elizabeth Tran, who was elected in 2018, took office in 2019 and resigned in January 2020.
