WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — David Tate knows what awaits him on the Wabash Township Board, which is at loggerheads with Jennifer Teising, the township trustee. "I have to be optimistic," Tate said, "because I'm a firm believer that for every problem there is a solution." Reaching those solutions, he admits, means asking some difficult questions and the persistency to get the answers to those tough questions. "It requires us all working together," Tate said. On Saturday, a caucus of the Democratic Party precinct committeemen from Wabash Township elected Tate, a retired Purdue University professor, to serve the 20-month term remaining on the board, Tippecanoe County Democratic Party Chairwoman Jacque Chosnek confirmed Wednesday.
