Mount Olive Man Facing Child Porn Charges

A Mount Olive man has been charged with multiple counts of possessing child pornography following an investigation by the Illinois Attorney General’s Office. 69-year-old Michael F. Curran was charged last Friday in Macoupin County Court with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, part of an ongoing program to combat the trade of child pornography online.
According to a news release from the Illinois AG’s office, Curran’s home was searched on May 13 by Mount Olive Police and the Macoupin County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation by state authorities. Police say they discovered evidence of the material at the home and Curran was taken into custody. Each count is a Class 2 felony punishable by up to 3-7 years in prison. Bond for Curran was set at $100,000. ....

MT. OLIVE Illinois Attorney General Kwame Raoul on Friday announced that Michael F. Curran, 69, of Mt. Olive, has been charged with possessing child pornography.
Curran was charged in Macoupin County Circuit Court with 10 counts of possession of child pornography, each a Class 2 felony punishable by up to three to seven years in prison. His bond is set at $100,000.
“Child pornography forever changes the lives of victims and their families, and those who perpetuate these horrific crimes must be held accountable,” Raoul said. “I would like to thank the Mt. Olive Police Department and the Macoupin County Sheriff’s office. Collaborations such as these are vital to my office’s efforts to track down and stop these offenders.” ....

MOUNT OLIVE A Macoupin County man is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail after his arrest on child pornography charges.
Attorney General Kwame Raoul said Michael F. Curran, 69, of Mount Olive was arrested on 10 counts of possession of child pornography, each a felony punishable by three to seven years in prison.
State investigators, with the assistance of Mount Olive Police Department and Macoupin County Sheriff’s Department, searched a residence Thursday in the 300 block of East Fourth North Street and arrested Curran after saying they found evidence of child pornography.
“Child pornography forever changes the lives of victims and their families and those who perpetuate these horrific crimes must be held accountable,” Raoul said. ....
