PSV picked up a tough victory over Go Ahead Eagles on Friday night to continue their unbeaten run. Full-back Sergino Dest struck in the tenth minute for the match's only goal. The United States international started the match well, creating a chance for his fellow US international teammate Malik Tillman before scoring to give his side the lead. Dest received the ball on the wing from Oliver Boscagli and cut inside past two players before curling it into the far corner.

AZ widen gap over faltering Ajax, drop zone looms for Excelsior

FC Twente lost on Saturday to NEC Nijmegen in the Eredvisie. A goal from Calvin Verdonk continued the home side's good form after the winter break. Rogier Meijer's side had drawn 2-2 in de Kuip against Feyenoord last weekend. Koki Ogawa had gotten away from the Twente defence several times as Joseph Oosting's side struggled to create any meaningful offense. Verdonk's winner was a beauty—a free kick from around thirty yards, which went straight into the top corner. Lars Unnerstall had no chance with his dive.

The Eredivisie returns this weekend for the first matches since the winter break. FC Twente-AZ Alkmaar is the pick of the fixtures as PSV and Feyenoord start their second half of the season with home fixtures. There is just one point separating FC Twente and AZ Alkmaar prior to the match. Twente is in third spot with 34 points, with AZ following in fourth.
