Holland Hospital adds new laser technology

HOLLAND — New laser technology at Holland Hospital will help physicians provide quicker, better care for patients dealing with kidney stones.
The hospital now has an Olympus Soltive SuperPulsed Laser System, which allows for quicker and more efficient stone removal. The platform is described as an “all-in-one platform for lithotripsy, soft tissue and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) treatment.”
The hospital said it is portable at an eighth of the size of similar laser systems, which can weigh over 400 pounds, and runs on standard voltage.
“This advancement in laser technology will allow us to deliver faster and more efficient care to our patients while also increasing our operational efficiency in the OR,” stated Lori Krcatovich, RN, CNOR, CRNFA, laser safety officer with Holland Hospital Surgical Services. “We could not be more excited about being able to offer the latest laser technology to our patients.”
