Microchip Technology Inc. has landed $162 million in federal CHIPS Act funding to boost semiconductor production, create 700 new jobs and expand its fabs in Colorado and Oregon.
The investment is part of the CHIPS and Science Act Biden signed in August 2022.
The investments will help Microchip Technology triple domestic production and reduce dependence on foreign factories.
