spreads across england and wales as we head into monday, and monday is a bank holiday for many of us. that band of cloud, one or two showers, spreads across england and wales, but actually, not a bad day for england and wales. there's some good sunny spells into the afternoon. more cloud for scotland and northern ireland, still quite breezy across the northern and western isles. so with more sunshine around, i think, across england and wales, we could be up to around 22 celsius again. it's the mid to high teens again further north and west. we maintain this west—north—west wind as we push into tuesday, as well. low pressure to the north, another little feature to the south. so top and tail of the country will see cloud, outbreaks of rain, certainly blustery showers for the northern and western isles and the northwest mainland of scotland, closer to that area of low pressure. but in between, a lot of dry weather on tuesday, variable cloud, some good spells of sunshine. again we're in the low 20s in the warmest spots, the mid—to—high—teens, though, where we see the showers. and then beyond there, so as we move deeper on into the following week,

for many parts of the uk, it'll be a warmer night as well, noticeably in the north, and a warmer day still tomorrow. a burst of summer warmth coming through with some sunshine for most parts of the uk. during the day that we've just had, however, we've had this weak warm front pushing northwards, drizzle through northern ireland, western scotland. we had misty low cloud and fog around some of the coasts and hills of the irish sea in the southwest approaches. now, that's still around in some areas, so too the drizzle in the north, and we've still got a pretty brisk wind blowing in the northeast of scotland. but for most of us, it's a fine evening followed by a fine night — but notice there are some pockets of cloud developing — low cloud, fog, so we could have some fog as we head towards morning once again. but it's, as i mentioned earlier, a warmer night — noticeably so in the north, quite muggy in the south. but at this time of year, late august or mid—to—late august, that fog does hang around just a little. but we are drawing up with a light southerly wind, some much warmer air during the day ahead, which means that we are going to see temperatures into the 20s
