  EDMONTON -- A Fairview, Alta., family is breathing a sigh of relief after the provincial government approved funding of a life-changing treatment for their son. Max Sych, 2, now known as Mighty Max, has Type 2 Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). According to his mother, Bryarly Parker, Max was diagnosed with SMA Nov. 24, 2020.
